We are looking for two individuals to undertake a Ranger Apprenticeship working across the New Forest National Park.
You will gain practical experience and develop skills in all aspects of environmental conservation and recreation management, undertaking placements with 6 ranger teams within the New Forest National Park:
- New Forest National Park Authority
- Forestry England
- National Trust
- Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust
- Hampshire County Council
- RSPB
Duties will include practical habitat management including scrub clearance and tree planting, habitat and wildlife surveys, face to face contact with members of the public and local communities, and assisting with delivering events and education, helping people to enjoy the special qualities of the National Park.
You will attend Kingston Maurward College once a week in the first 12 months prior to an independent End Point Assessment. Accredited certified training will be given in Brushcutters and strimmers, Chainsaw Operations and first aid.
Apprenticeship details:
- 16 month contract
- 37 hours per week (full-time)
- Salary: £177 per week for first 12 months, increasing to National Minimum Wage for remaining 4 months
