This project strives to conserve threatened ecosystems and cultures by saving endangered habitats, strengthening local capacity and helping communities preserve their way of life. It is looking for volunteers for three conservation and cultural programs in the Amazonas region. The Amazonas region houses a unique collection of diverse ecosystems including tropical Andean, lowland Amazon, and seasonally deciduous tropical forests, and equally diverse cultures. Volunteers can assist with reforestation, agroforestry, various types of applied research, environmental education, school related projects, sports projects (including volleyball, basketball and football), community work, cultural programs and events, fish production (including delivery by canoe to indigenous communities along the rivers), digital photography, and some minor trail maintenance.
The project costs £210 per month which includes accommodation and food.
