Description

Play a key role in conserving and helping people enjoy the natural heritage of the Darent Valley. This is a beautiful rural landscape lying within and beside the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), but just 14 miles from central London. Working from a converted barn on a rural farm, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of five staff delivering ‘Samuel Palmer’s Earthly Paradise’ - The Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme (DVLPS).

This innovative scheme is led by the Kent Downs AONB Unit and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and other scheme partners. It brings together a range of organisations to promote, support and deliver an integrated and sustainable approach to landscape and heritage management. This will be achieved through advocacy, development of partnerships and delivery of an integrated suite of projects to enhance and protect the landscape and its heritage, improve access, raise capacity in partners and the local community, increase community engagement and celebrate the landscape.

Your role will be to lead on the delivery of the ‘Exploration’ and ‘Natural & Historic Landscapes’ programmes as well as using your skills and knowledge to support other members of the DVLPS team to ensure the full integration of projects across all five programmes.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
