Description

Passionate about nature you are looking for an opportunity to use your experience in advocacy to save our planet. Look no further than this role with WWF UK, the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. We are focused on tackling the urgent triple challenge of our time: stabilising our climate and reducing biodiversity loss while fixing the food system to feed a rapidly growing global population. This is where your expertise is needed.

As National Food Strategy Coordinator we want you to support our advocacy work covering the development and implementation of an integrated national food policy across the UK as well as provide policy coherence on UK food production and consumption, including sustainable diets. You will be particularly involved in National Food Strategy (NFS) work at a Westminster level. You will input into major decision-making processes and ensure activity is aligned with initiatives being actioned by colleagues in Scotland and Wales too. You will also develop key policy positions and joint assets as well as represent WWF at key meetings. Important will be the ability to build relationships with key senior stakeholders to optimise delivery of our strategic food objectives and contribute towards building relevant collaborations.

You will possess solid advocacy experience and a record of impacting policy change. You will have knowledge related to the UK food system, including how to use policy, research, lobbying, public campaigning, media and digital work to influence a political and public agenda. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of sustainability and climate change too. Effective at managing projects you will also be comfortable synthesising scientific evidence, data and different sources of information and translating them into impactful and easily understood advice and communications.

In addition, your technical expertise will be complemented by excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.

If you are passionate about the fight to save our natural world, we would love to hear from you, please click on the link and apply via our website. Complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up to date CV with cover letter highlighting what makes you a good fit for us.

Closing date:  18/12/2020

At WWF-UK we are committed to creating an inclusive working environment, where diversity is valued and there is equality of opportunity. We therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community and we offer a range of benefits to encourage a work life balance.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We’re looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.
