Description  

Summary: Brown and May Marine Ltd. are looking to recruit a Marine/Fisheries Consultant. The successful candidate will join a team expanding to meet an increasing workload both from existing and new clients in the renewable, oil and gas and subsea cable industries.  

The role will include liaison with various stakeholders and consultees associated with various offshore developments. The work will be primarily office-based but with a requirement for out of office work in the UK, Europe and at sea.

Essential Requirements

  • Educated to Degree level, preferably in Marine Science/Fisheries Science/Economics/Maths or a related discipline
  • Minimum two-years relevant experience
  • Good communication skills and experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders
  • Background experience and/or knowledge of fisheries, fish ecology and the marine environment
  • Proven report writing and presentation experience  
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience in data analysis, interpretation and acquisition  
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative and as part of a team to achieve demanding deadlines
  • Teamwork, flexibility, organisation and effective time management
  • Contract and project management experience
  • Full driving license  
  • Available for travel around UK & Europe  

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge and/or experience of using GIS software
  • Experience of surveys in the field, including sea going surveys
