Description

We are looking for a full-time Outreach and Volunteer officer to lead on the delivery of all public engagement and BeeWalk elements of the new Making a Buzz for the Coast project.

The project aims to protect and enhance Kent’s wild pollinator populations through habitat provision, monitoring and awareness raising. It will provide local people with varied and plentiful ways to engage with the topic, learn about wild bees, their importance and what they can do to help, tailored to their current level of engagement and knowledge. Your role will be to organise and lead on these engagement activities, with the support of a team of volunteers which you will recruit and support.

You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, with good bumblebee identification skills, knowledge of pollinator ecology, and experience in public engagement.  You will have strong communication skills and be able to engage a wide range of people including local community groups, children and young people, partner organisations and volunteers.

This position will be based from a new office which is currently being sourced in North Kent.

Please download the application pack for more details and to apply.

The closing date is 5pm, Wednesday 23 August 2017.
