Perform GIS tasks using ESRI’s ArcGIS and Python

Design and implement automated data and mapping processes to improve internal ways of working and customer experience

Collate and analyse raw data on operations delivery performance, risk and create ministerial reports

Provide support and work closely with the Senior Adviser in systems and management information

Standardise and document processes for key tasks, produce guidance and training materials

Mentor and train team members on GIS work and data interpretation

Collaborate with stakeholders and relevant team members

Maintain data quality and implement Natural England data standards into the teams GIS and data work. Ensure data storage is in line Natural England policy

Raise team profile and engage with wider Natural England

Natural England’s Complex Case Unit (CCU) Specialist Licensing team are responsible for the review and implementation of licensing of badger vaccination and population control for the purposes of preventing the spread of bovine tuberculosis (bTB). The GIS and Data Lead Adviser leads on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data analysis work, developing systems and delivering information for licensing and operations.

A degree involving ArcGIS/Geography/Statistics/Data Analysis/ at level 2:2 or higher, or evidence of equivalent relevant experience (Essential)
Knowledge and experience of data management, collation and analysis (Essential)
Knowledge of scripting language such as Python or R (Essential)
Excellent written, IT and communication skills and workload management (Essential)
