Overview

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. Role Profile

The KELOLA Sendang Project Liaison Officer will be the primary, London-based coordinator for the KELOLA Sendang Project. This post will work with the Project Leads in London and Indonesia to ensure efficient and effective communication and coordination, as well as provide technical advice where appropriate.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the point person for KELOLA Sendang at ZSL Headquarters in London
  • Ensure regular, timely communication and coordination between the Project teams in London and Indonesia
  • Assist with coordinating Partner activities, advising where appropriate, and ensuring that deliverables completed on time and checked prior to Partner payments
  • Lead in the monthly report review process, working with the Project team to establish and adhere to report deadlines ensuring high-quality donor reports in English
  • Coordinate reviews and approvals of all Project documents in English
  • Lead in ensuring that web-based storage venues, such as Basecamp and Dropbox are accurate and updated regularly
  • As appropriate, regularly review progress against Project logframe to ensure alignment and revision where necessary; advise as appropriate.
  • Work with CP Ops and Finance to ensure timely and accurate submission of invoices to UKCCU; review budget vs. expenses to ensure Project aligns with DFID’s Value for Money guidelines
  • Assist with FLAG EMU reviews as appropriate

 

Person Specification

  • Minimum MSc. in conservation, biology or related subject or equivalent experience
  • Proven project management experience in management of conservation projects in Indonesia
  • Understanding of large-scale, sustainable landscape management approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and interpretative problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi-task and operate successfully under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proven experience in forging and sustaining strong relationships with stakeholders and government Institutions
