Overview

  • £45,000 – £60,000 dependent on experience
  • Paid • Full or Part Time • Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Principal Ecologist to lead the ecology team at Environment Systems and to manage customer relationships for upland EcIA work. This post can be based anywhere in the UK (home/hybrid/office working).

Key competencies and experience (proportional to the grade you are applying for);

  • Experience of Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) is essential and working knowledge of the planning system including Developments of National Significance (DNS) is desirable.
  • Experience of the upland environment including NVC surveys and knowledge of peatland processes.
  • Applying impact assessment processes and best practice.
  • Experience of working in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience of the bidding process and team management is desirable.
  • Track record of producing high quality reports and advising clients and other technical teams.
  • A graduate or postgraduate degree in ecology, environmental management or related subject.
  • Experience in the energy sector or on infrastructure projects (not essential).

Work will include managing the relationship with existing clients, identifying new opportunities and working with the sales team to close them, resource management, team management.
