Description

James Blake Associates is an award winning, multi-disciplinary practice employing professionals in Landscape Architecture, Arboriculture and Ecology.

We are based in the beautiful medieval village of Lavenham on the Suffolk/Essex border, but do not be fooled by the historic façade; we work on a wide and diverse range of projects in all sectors of the industry and all over the country. We are currently carrying out contemporary central London urban design projects, aspirational large-scale town extensions, designs for schools, colleges, hospitals and other private and public sector developments.

We are an ambitious company with clear plans for growth and expansion. We are now looking for a Head of Ecology, someone that is passionate about the landscape profession and is keen to progress within the company, into director roles.

Are you the Head of Ecology we’re looking for…

(Salary scale: £35,000 to £50,000 dependent on experience)

To be successful in the role we would love to hear from individuals with the following profile:

  • Experience of managing a team, possibly from an Ecology consultancy;

  • Experience and interest in lead generation and business development;

  • Excellent project management experience;

  • Mitigation experience;

  • Full CIEEM membership;

  • Protected species licences particularly bats, GCN and dormice and a sound, practical knowledge of UK fauna and flora;

  • Excellent all-round communication and report writing skills, assimilating ecological data and presenting relevant information well;

  • An enthusiastic and positive disposition, with the ability to engage well with clients and colleagues alike.

  • We will offer an attractive and competitive salary for the right individual including a generous benefits package.
