We are seeking a proactive and experienced Programme Manager to coordinate delivery of our award winning strategic green infrastructure programmes:

This is an exciting opportunity to help enhance Bath & North East Somerset through leading on the delivery of key green infrastructure projects.

Bath & North East Somerset Council has a strong background of designing effective natural environment policy and strategy and delivering it through strategic Green Infrastructure programmes and projects. The Strategic Green Infrastructure and Nature Recovery Team is currently being developed to take on new responsibilities whilst continuing to deliver our existing commitments. We aim to be able to respond at pace to our ecological emergency targets and to new duties and requirements in response to the Environment Act and other central government legislation, guidance, and initiatives.

Our new Green Infrastructure Programme Managers role will have an exciting opportunity to oversee and develop our strong commitments to nature’s recovery and to ensure that the Council’s responsibilities in relation to natural environment are more widely understood and delivered across all service areas.

To lead on the development and delivery of the councils Green Infrastructure programme to address nature’s recovery and the ecological emergency.

Lead, develop and promote sound programme management, project management and risk management processes for the successful deployment of investment throughout the projects being delivered within the green infrastructure programme.

Oversee Green Infrastructure project portfolio and develop project concepts, funding bids and business cases (individual projects up to value £5m) working with Senior Council Officers/Managers, Elected Members and as part of external public/private/voluntary sector strategic partnerships

Work with the Nature Recovery Manager and Principal Ecologist to develop nature recovery projects. Support and guide the wider delivery of nature recovery across the council and where appropriate across the wider West of England region working with our existing partnerships and stakeholders, neighbouring councils and WECA.

This post is full time (37 hrs per week) fixed term for two years initially, with the potential to extend dependent upon the success of securing funding.
