Groundwork London is an environmental and social regeneration charity seeking to recruit an experienced Events &Training Coordinator to join our high performing and very successful Green Doctor programme and share delivery of this exciting role.

Green Doctors primarily deliver home energy efficiency, health and wellbeing visits across London to vulnerable households. The visits are a holistic approach to caring for our clients’ needs and are a mix of advice, installation of small practical measures and referring on to other services in order to maximise the benefits for clients. In addition the programme delivers other energy saving projects and schemes.

The Events & Training Coordinator will support this service through managing and running promotional events; designing and delivering training for professionals who could refer into the services and designing and leading educational workshops for vulnerable clients. This role is a job share with an existing employee.

You will be a people person with a passion for the environment and for helping vulnerable people. You must have experience in designing and running events and training sessions for a wide variety of audiences and knowledge of energy efficiency.

You must be comfortable with lone working and in managing your own workload.  Experience of working with volunteers is also desirable.   A full clean driving licence is required.

Specification (E - essential, D - Desirable):

  • Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) or NVQ Level 3 (6049-03) Provide Energy Efficiency Services or equivalent-D
  • City and Guilds Energy Awareness (6281-01) previously known as the 6176 Energy Awareness or equivalent -D
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate and work with a wide customer base; tailoring messages to customer needs-E
  • Experience of developing and delivering training sessions and tailoring learning to meet audience requirements-E
  • Experience in delivery of community and/or education projects-E
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and home energy products and the ability to provide appropriate advice and guidance relating to them-E
  • A knowledge of issues relating to the effects of cold weather on health and wellbeing-D
  • Ability to plan and manage own workload, including effective prioritisation of tasks and ability to work to agreed aims and objectives-E
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a high performing team and highly developed interpersonal skills-E
  • Excellent administration skills and sound knowledge of MS Corporate Applications. Good understanding of the purposes and use of social media communication platforms.-E
  • Experience of recruiting and/or line managing volunteers -D
  • Experience of liaising with external partners and stakeholders-D
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekends-E
