Description

We’re looking for a Researcher to support our Programmes teams.  Your initial focus will be to support the Clean Seas policy work so that we can keep our voice on marine litter at the forefront of political and legislative change.  There has never been such media and public interest in tackling the rising tide of plastic and waste on our beaches and in our seas.

As Researcher you will analyse, interpret and present our data and evidence to support the aims of our Programmes.  Working with our Campaigns and Communications teams, you’ll be responsible for providing information for use in the media or in our campaigns for support and action.

Acting as a central point of contact for information, you will be responsive to a number of requests from your colleagues, but also from external enquires.  You will show your skills and commitment to customer service, prioritising your workload and providing information and data appropriately for the various audiences.

Key Skills

  • Proven ability to undertake research and analysis, for example, analysing datasets, desktop research, report writing.
  • Proven and effective communication skills for promoting messages in plain English to a wide audience through written materials and presentations.
  • Understanding of the marine environment through previous roles or education
  • GIS mapping, including experience of using Arc GIS and the presentation of geographical data
  • Database management, manipulation and presentation of data, including geographical data.
  • Experience and commitment to customer service to ensure that any written or phone enquiries are resolved satisfactorily.

The right person is likely to be passionate about conservation, the marine environment and our marine and shore wildlife.  We offer a great working environment, an incredible cause and the chance to be part of a team who are committed to making a real difference for the marine environment.
