Description

Are you an enthusiastic and competent GIS professional looking for a new and exciting challenge within the environmental NGO sector?

The South East Rivers Trust is looking for a GIS Analyst to lead the GIS work for the Trust, setting up a GIS database and working with colleagues on spatial analysis. This is a maternity cover position until mid-May 2021, with the potential to be extended if additional work is generated.

You will be working on several ground breaking projects, mapping natural capital and the ecosystem services it provides to help target environmental enhancements to where they are most effective. Through the PROWATER project, you will work with European partners to target measures that will protect and enhance water resources, and through an Environmental Land Management trial you will support the targeting and creation of land management plans to help farmers, planners and the local community enhance natural capital for public benefit. You will also support the Trust and the Catchment Partnerships it hosts in GIS analysis to explore issues that degrade rivers and their catchments and solutions to address them.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to continue expanding the GIS function of a growing organisation and give the evidence for environmental enhancements which will be implemented on the ground. You will be making a real difference to the river catchments of the South East of England.
