Exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated and friendly team assisting in the management and conservation of The Box Moor Trust, a charity that manages land in Bovingdon and Hemel Hempstead for the public benefit. 

This is a varied role that includes general estate maintenance, organisation of ecological surveys and reports, knowledge of and compliance with health & safety legislation and codes of practice, practical conservation work and site protection, community involvement and public interface and attendance at Trust public events.  There will be an element of working with our Environmental Education Team to support wildlife awareness activities and the Junior Rangers Group.   You will be expected to use reporting and recording systems when necessary and to accept all training opportunities offered by the Trust. 

The successful candidate must be organised and innovative in order to manage a varying and diverse workload.  They will need to have experience in data analysis/interpretation and have proven success of working in a team environment.  A degree in ecology or a related subject is desirable, as is the ability to demonstrate an understanding of countryside management methods and livestock handling, as well as familiarity with a wide variety of hand tools and equipment.  A full UK driving licence is essential.

The Trust has 500 acres of hugely varying and exciting habitats. If you have a passion for conservation and a determination to pass that passion on to others, then this could be the job for you.

Hours on average 35 per week, but will vary and include day, evening and weekend work. Pay range up to £18,500 per annum, dependent on experience.
