Are you passionate about our oceans? Do you want to contribute to the development and certification process of the MSC’s Fisheries Standard?

If so, you could be the perfect fit for the Marine Stewardship Council!

The role of Fisheries Standard Manager contributes to the development and implementation of the MSC’s Fisheries Standard, Fisheries Certification Process and other team processes. As a member of Science & Standards department the role will involve:

  • Management of a portfolio of fisheries in the program and oversight of their assessment;
  • Development of the MSC’s Fisheries Standard and Fisheries Certification Process;
  • Development of internal processes that support the team’s function.

This role will be based in London so applicants must have the right to live and work within the UK.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual with a background in sustainability or environmental discipline, or in a subject with relevance to operational processes or systems. 

You will also have:

  • practical experience of certification or rating systems, auditing, operations management, quality management systems or related practices.
  • A good knowledge of fisheries science and management; marine ecology or marine conservation is highly desirable, as is experience of third-party certification schemes including the MSC program.
  • A strong teamwork ethic and excellent project planning, organisation, and time management skills.
