This is an exciting time to join our charity, we want you to develop and deliver plans for enhancing habitats, conserving historic buildings and providing public access and recreation. You can help us to re-connect Cambridge landscapes for people and nature.

Our main site is Wandlebury Country Park on the Gog Magog Hills, which receives around 100,000 visits per year. Wandlebury contains the remains of an iron-age hillfort and 18th century country estate and stables. It is designated as Scheduled Monument, has Listed Buildings and is a County Wildlife Site. The site is 60 ha of chalk grassland and mature woodland with a pond, traditional orchard, outdoor education centre and fold of Highland Cattle.

You will have a practical background and have spent at least 5 years’ managing publicly accessible countryside/heritage sites. You will have the knowledge and experience to provide leadership and support to our team of Wardens and volunteers.

This is a varied and rewarding role that has great potential for personal development and the salary will reflect your current managerial experience.

You will be joining a small, committed management team where you can make a difference and your work will have an impact.

Cambridge Past, Present & Future is a local charity that cares about Cambridge and its green landscapes. The Estate Manager is responsible for sites that we own and care for, including Wandlebury Country Park, Coton Countryside Reserve, Bourn Windmill, Hinxton Watermill and Cambridge Leper Chapel & meadows. We deliver a busy schools and public events programme from our sites. We were founded in 1928 to prevent the historic city of Cambridge and its countryside setting from being damaged by inappropriate development and we work hard to influence the planning of the greater Cambridge area.
