Local environmental charity Cambridge Past, Present & Future is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Warden to join our Estates Team.
The Assistant Warden is a trainee role, leading to you being employed as a Warden. You will learn on the job and gain qualifications such as chainsaw, brushcutter, tractor driving and first aid. This is a great career-start opportunity.
This is a rewarding, varied and hands-on role that involves working the land and property and dealing face-face with the public. You will be part of a small team of Wardens who have responsibility for supporting the visitor, wildlife and heritage management of Wandlebury Country Park, Coton Countryside Reserve and other sites owned by the charity.
The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification and ideally some initial practical experience of estate management, nature conservation or visitor management (for example as a volunteer). You will need good communication skills and be physically strong and enjoy working outdoors in all weather.
The salary offered will depend on skills and experience. If you have already been trained in, or have good experience of countryside management work, then we would still very much like you to apply and would be looking to start you at the upper end of the salary range and for you to move quickly on to become a Warden.
Closing date: Midnight 28 May 2019. Interviews anticipated on the 17 or 18 June.
