Your new role

The council are seeking to recruit an Environmental and Green Space Project Officer on a full time and permanent basis. As an Environmental and Green Space Project Officer, you will actively contribute to the development and management of environmental and green space projects ensuring that the green infrastructure provides long-term benefits for residents, visitors and wildlife.

You will be required to produce and keep up to date a state of nature report for Southend-on-Sea and implement the report, recruiting and managing volunteers to undertake survey work. You will coordinate and develop environmental and green space projects including the development of business plans and funding applications.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have Environmental Management and Sustainability HND or other relevant qualification. It is also essential that you have previous experience or knowledge of environmental issues relating to wildlife and green spaces to be considered for this role.

 Ability to get to any location within the Borough/UK using your own means and Council vehicles is highly desirable. It is essential that you have project management experience as this role requires you to support on various projects.

 To meet the demands of the role, occasional weekends will be required.
