Be part of driving the low carbon transition in Oxfordshire. We are looking for an Energy Insights Lead to help us develop, and realise the benefits of, an energy mapping tool for Oxfordshire. You’ll be a motivated, creative thinking energy professional who is a great communicator and project manager and enthusiastic about contributing to a change in the energy system.

An industry-first, Project LEO (Local Energy Oxfordshire), is an InnovateUK funded programme exploring how the growth in local renewables, electric vehicles, battery storage and demand side response can be supported by a local, flexible, and responsive electricity grid to ensure value for consumers and opportunities for communities and market providers.

As part of this exciting programme, Oxfordshire County Council will be working alongside Oxford Brookes, Oxford University and EDF over 3 years to create and realise the benefits from a GIS spatial tool to aid with future energy systems planning that will help to accelerate the low carbon transition in Oxfordshire. The tool will draw together existing public datasets and commission new datasets to create insights to inform future retrofit programmes, locations of new renewables and storage at a locality scale and help with planning for the decarbonisation of heat and transport.

We are also recruiting for an Energy Systems Officer, please make it clear in your application if you would like to be considered for both roles and ensure you demonstrate your experience relevant to any of the additional selection criteria in the other role.
