Essex Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity. It has more than 37,000 members, manages and protects over 8,400 acres of land on 87 nature reserves and 2 nature parks and runs 11 visitor centres. The aim of Essex Wildlife Trust is to Protect Wildlife for the Future and for the People of Essex. It is supported financially by members, local businesses and grant making organisations. It is one of the largest of the 47 county wildlife trusts that work together throughout the British Isles as The Wildlife Trusts.
We have an exciting opportunity at Abberton Reservoir Visitor Centre for an Education and Community Officer. The successful applicant will work 37.5 hours per week across 7 days.
Responsibilities include:
• To promote, develop and deliver a formal educational programme from preschool through to Key Stage 5
• To promote, develop and deliver an informal education programme
• To engage children, young people and adults with wildlife, living landscapes and living seas through; School holiday activities, Pre-school clubs, Birthday parties, Youth groups/clubs, Family events, Centre team events
