Description  

We are looking for candidates to start as soon as possible and ideally to be available from 11 June for a handover period

 

Join Britain’s biggest walking charity and help everyone to enjoy the outdoors on foot.  You will oversee the production of our quarterly magazine and associated digital content, to inspire, enthuse, inform and support existing and potential Ramblers members. You will commission, research and write copy to ensure that the magazine meets the highest standards in writing and design and is viewed as an excellent benefit of Ramblers membership.   You will also manage the Assistant Editor.

 

This role is part of the Advocacy and Engagement Team.

  

This is an exciting time to join the Ramblers team and a great opportunity to make a lasting and tangible impact on the future success of the charity.

Essential Requirements include:

  • Able to carry out independent, collaborative and commissioned research

  • Able to create content and work with others to edit and produce a magazine or similar publication

  • Competent and confident in the use of a range of media such as email, social media and blogging, together with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Able to prepare and manage budgets

  • Understanding of and interest in countryside and environmental issues affecting the Ramblers, walkers and other stakeholders

  • Proven experience in project management and editing an organisation’s main publication

  • Able to work independently and to work some flexible and unsocial hours, including weekends, as and when required
