Description

ECOSA are pleased to be seeking an Equipment and Resource Co-ordinator to join us at our head office in rural Hampshire.

In this unique role, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for scheduling and equipment.

As the Equipment and Resource Co-ordinator, you will manage and adapt our centralised survey schedule, taking into account ecological timing constraints and the requirements of our clients. You will collaborate with our Project Managers and provide them with ongoing resource management and related support. You will be responsible for assigning staff to tasks based on their availability, skills and experience. Maximising available resources through extensive staff liaison and efficient allocation will be a key part of the role. Due to the weather-dependent nature of the works we undertake, changes can be necessary at the last minute, and you will need to mitigate resource concerns by reallocating resources where necessary.

You will also be responsible for all ECOSA equipment, managing daily operations for equipment procurement, inventory management and maintenance. This will include ensuring equipment is compliant with relevant health and safety legislation such as LOLER and PUWER. You will be responsible for the maintenance of all equipment, including tracking records, inspections, warrantees and service agreements for equipment and tools. You will also be responsible for monitoring the quality of equipment throughout it’s lifetime, decommissioning equipment where appropriate and making recommendations for alternatives if needed.

During less busy periods, when seasonal work is not being undertaken, you may also be asked to assist our administration team with tasks such as preparing fee proposals and answering the telephone.

We are keen to hear from applicants looking to remain in this role in the long-term, or looking to use the position as a stepping stone into the ecological sector. For those looking to remain in this role in the long-term we will offer a permanent contract. For those looking to enter an ecological role, we will offer a two year contract, with opportunities to develop your technical skills over this period. At the end of the two year contract you will be given the opportunity to interview for a suitable role on our technical team.

About You

The ideal candidate will be detail orientated and a skilled communicator with strong verbal and written skills. You will be comfortable multitasking and meeting deadlines, highly adaptable in a sometimes fast-paced and changeable work environment and a proactive problem solver.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Very strong communication skills;
  • The ability to demonstrate that you have worked effectively both alone and as part of a team;
  • Good attention to detail;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills;
  • The ability to demonstrate proactive problem solving;
  • Strong IT skills including common Microsoft packages; and
  • Legal entitlement to work in the UK.

For those interested in the two year contract with potential to move to a technical role:

  • A full driving licence.

Desirable Skills

  • A degree in a subject relevant to ecology;
  • Previous experience in equipment and resource management; and
  • Existing knowledge of the ecological consultancy sector would be an advantage.

What ECOSA can offer you

As part of the ECOSA team you will have access to:

  • A generous Continued Professional Development allowance;
  • A relaxed office environment; and
  • A rural office location with free car parking, a large garden, wildlife ponds and lunch area.

For those interested in moving to a technical role in future, we can also offer:

  • Flexible working hours (during the summer), overtime/TOIL;
  • A mentoring system to promote your development and encourage your progression with reference to the CIEEM Competency Framework;
  • A structured training budget and regular in-house training;
  • An extensive support network within the company to provide guidance and specialist advice.

ECOSA are committed to providing a safe and supportive working environment where all of our staff can thrive. We provide all of our staff with a contributory pension and access to a childcare voucher scheme (subject to eligibility).
