Opportunities for a Senior Ecology Regional Lead – London and the South East

Temple is one of the UK’s leading pure play environment & sustainability consultancies. We are a purpose-driven organisation, and our people are at the heart of this. Every day, everyone at Temple contributes to delivering positive change for the environment, society and our clients – and together we are helping to realise more sustainable futures for all.

As a B-corp, focused on securing the right outcomes without compromising our shared ethos has led us to working for a diverse range of insightful and enlightened clients on some of the most exciting and transformation projects in the country.  This in turn has helped us to attract, retain and develop a team of talented, passionate and inspiring individuals, who ensure our unique position at the cutting-edge of our industry.

This is an exciting time for us and our industry and we are committed to playing an active role in this and making a positive impact over the next 5 years.  Unsurprisingly, we have ambitious plans to build on our successes to date and to achieve more, and for this to succeed we need to ensure we have the right individuals in the right roles.

The Opportunity

We are now looking to further expand and strengthen our ecological presence across the UK including through the appointment of an ambitious and inspirational Ecology Business Unit Lead for London and the South East. As one of our longest standing teams and a successful track record, you will have a high degree of autonomy over leading, shaping and growing the teams based in London and Sussex, including engaging with client and partners, pursuing appropriate opportunities, recruiting new talent, improving processes, driving innovation and developing new initiatives. As a senior Temple team member, working with the Head of Ecology and the other Business Unit Leads, you will play a wider role in mentoring, developing and ensuring the success of the wider Ecology Division and the Temple business as a whole. In addition, you will take ownership of some of our key client accounts/frameworks and contribute to and support the development of our other teams and service propositions.

On a day-to-day basis you will act as project manager/director as appropriate. Over time, as we continue to invest in new services such as Environmental Net Gain and Natural Capital, there will be opportunities for you to develop / apply your skills in these areas and to work across different divisions and business units on a range of projects.

Our requirements

As part of our Senior Team, you will play a crucial role in realising our ambitions.  You will be a talented professional with a broad and deep wealth of expertise, but just as importantly you will bring the right self-starting entrepreneurial aptitude and approach, having the potential as both a disruptor and a collaborator and someone who will thrive in our community of innovators and problem-solvers, where we collectively leverage our ingenuity, experience, passion and technology to build trust with clients and deliver sustainable legacies.

You will be a highly experienced ecologist with proven experience at a senior director grade or looking to make this significant step-up. You are likely to have extensive experience working in consultancy and be looking to join a large and successful independent SME where you can directly influence change, and control the direction and performance of the business, and share in its success.?

Please note we are working with selected agencies on this role.

Equal Employment Opportunities

As an equal opportunities’ employer, Temple is committed to the equal treatment of all current and prospective employees. We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply and join Temple.

Temple is an accredited Investors in People organisation.
