An exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing Environmental Consultancy delivering Planning, Landscape Architectural and Ecological solutions across a range of development sectors.

Based in Shropshire (Hybrid Working Available), Kedd Limited are currently expanding and are seeking an experienced Ecologist / Senior Ecologist to complement its existing, multi-disciplinary team and workload.

Kedd work nationally across a variety of development sectors, covering minerals, residential, leisure and tourism, and commercial projects, providing specialist cross discipline expertise with a collaborative approach, to deliver meaningful and successful projects outputs and added value to our clients.

The new team member would play a lead role in undertaking and delivering ecological survey and assessment across range of projects and would be involved in all stages of projects from tendering to completion.

Who are we looking for? 

  • A passion for ecology and the environment
  • Degree in Ecology or a closely related subject
  • professional experience in Ecological Consultancy
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or eligibility for membership
  • Working knowledge of protected species surveys, mitigation and licensing
  • Technical specialism, including one or more protected species licenses (ideally including bats)
  • Understanding of relevant UK industry standards, environmental legislation, planning and policy
  • Working knowledge of UKHab, BNG and the DEFRA Metric
  • Excellent report writing skills – including for projects requiring Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisation, project management, and client liaison skills
  • Ability to organise own diary and workload
  • Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle for business
