 Join Britain’s biggest walking charity to help more people enjoy the benefits of walking. 

We are looking to recruit a Director of Advocacy and Engagement to lead our policy and communications team. The Director of Advocacy and Engagement is responsible for all aspects of our brand and for our marketing strategy and delivery. The Director will work alongside our staff and our 26,000 volunteers to enable them to deliver the Ramblers mission – to help everyone enjoy the outdoors on foot – across Great Britain.

This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer as part of Senior Management Team. It is an exciting time to join the Ramblers and a great opportunity to make a lasting and tangible impact on the future success of the charity, as we transform and reposition the Ramblers to ensure we remain relevant  and reach out to future generations.


Applicants will need excellent leadership, people management and partnership building skills. We are looking for an experienced senior manager with exceptional brand-building, marketing, communication and policy development skills and a track record of innovation, insight and impact, able to demonstrate effective reach and engagement of both loyal and new supporters.
