Description  

Suffolk County Council is in the process of digitising its Definitive Map and Statements and is looking for someone with a working knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and databases.

Suffolk has 5500km of public rights of way, over 5000ha of open access, part of the England Coast Path, two AONBs, a Heritage Coast and a population of over 700,000.

This is an exciting opportunity if you have a background in both GIS and an interest in mapping. Ideally, you will also have some knowledge / experience of working within a legal framework and you must hold a full, valid driving licence.

Working within a friendly and supportive team, you will be helping modernise the council's legal record of Public Rights of Way.

Appropriate training will be provided.

Suffolk Highways is a collaboration between Kier and Suffolk County Council to meet the primary objective of maintaining roads and delivering new highway infrastructure in Suffolk. Personnel from both organisations work together in integrated teams as part of an alliance that aspires to be at the forefront of highway service delivery and respected as such.
