As a senior member of the Countryside Policy & Management team you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, external partners and stakeholders. You will lead and manage a team of individuals dedicated to delivering the best outcomes possible to enhance, protect and ensure public enjoyment of the Park. Your specific park wide responsibilities will be in leading the education, volunteering and outreach team working with our network of over 800 schools, reaching out to groups currently not enjoying the benefits of the South Downs, and develop volunteering. You will also have overall management responsibility for the Ranger Team within the Eastern Area – located in Brighton, and with them driving forward partnership projects in some of the most spectacular areas of the National Park along the Heritage Coast including Beachy Head and the Cuckmere Estuary

As part of the senior management team you will contribute to the development and implementation of the National Park Partnership Management Plan.   You need to have considerable strengths in team leadership and development and collaborative working across a multi-disciplinary organisation. You will need to combine this with your ability to develop, build and maintain effective external partnerships which can enhance the landscape and engage more people in enjoying and looking after the National Park. Able to initiate, deliver and evaluate projects, you will also work with the National Park Trust to generate new sources of income in support of our purposes.

If this sound like the sort of challenge and the development opportunity you want and if you meet the person specification, and believe you can add real value to the job and to the SDNPA, then we look forward to receiving your application.
