Description

Organisation overview

Blue Ventures develops locally-led approaches to marine management that benefit people and nature alike.  By listening and responding to basic needs, our models are designed to catalyse and sustain marine conservation, unlocking the potential of coastal communities to manage their resources.  We work in places where the ocean is vital to local cultures and economies, and are committed to advancing the rights of small-scale fishers throughout the coastal tropics.

Summary job description

To accommodate the evolving and growing needs of our international conservation team we are recruiting for an exciting new role to support our UK based conservation team and ensure effective delivery of a growing number of programmes across five countries (Belize, Comoros, Indonesia, Madagascar and Timor-Leste). The position will provide a broad range of support to both UK and field based colleagues.

The successful candidate will thrive in environments that are dynamic, fast-paced, collegiate and ambitious, and ideally have a proven track record in communicating effectively and professionally with funders, delivering high quality written work and managing competing priorities to meet deadlines reliably.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual who will be pragmatic and resourceful, entrepreneurial, and sensitive to the needs and interests of Blue Ventures’ partner communities and stakeholders.

We are looking for a creative, open minded and discerning individual, with excellent communications skills, attention to detail, and a strong technical background in environmental conservation and community development.

The role offers the opportunity to gain experience working on a wide range of programmes, working as part of an interdisciplinary and international team. The position will report to Blue Ventures’ Conservations Projects and Grants Manager,  and will be based in our Bristol office, with occasional overseas travel to work with partners and field teams.

Blue Ventures is a fast growing and mission-driven social enterprise, offering excellent opportunities for further professional development.

Application Process

Applicants should apply using the online form via the Blue Ventures wesbite by 5th January 2018.

Please note that applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and first-round interviews may be conducted with short-listed candidates before the application deadline.

All shortlisted candidates will be contacted within two weeks of the closing date.
