Description  

World Land Trust is seeking a Conservation Programmes Assistant to provide project administration support to the Programmes Team. This is a full time post, based in our offices in Halesworth, Suffolk. It will be initially on a 12 month fixed term contract, with the potential for becoming permanent, depending on funding and performance.

The duties and responsibilities:

Project Administration

  • Collating and summarising reports and data from programme partners, and assisting with the preparation of reports.
  • Assisting with the administration and management of budgets.
  • Organising travel
  • Organising and storing computer-based information.
  • Drawing up basic contracts.
  • Co-ordinating meetings and minute taking.

Conservation Programme Co-ordination

  • Liaising with relevant programme partners on progress and outcomes of conservation programmes funded by WLT
  • Assisting with information-gathering, fact-checking and editing content for WLT website and other communications as required.
  • Representing WLT as required at relevant events/symposia/external meetings.
  • Providing general assistance to the conservation programmes team as required.

Some national and international travel to visit project sites may be involved.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree-level or equivalent in a field relevant to the conservation sector.
  • Knowledge of ecological concepts and basic conservation management
  • Knowledge of International Conservation would be an advantage

Abilities and skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in use of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy  
  • A high-level of numeracy and literacy is essential.
  • Spanish would be an advantage

Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.

Salary: £16,500 p.a.
