Description
Overview:

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSL’s mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. This is realised by carrying out field conservation and research in over 50 countries across the globe and through education and awareness-raising at our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, inspiring people to take conservation action.

ZSL has initiated a major project, which is proposing the development of a Rhino Impact Bond with the United Nations Development Programme. This project seeks to develop an innovative financial mechanism to scale up financing to immediately address the rhino crisis. With commitments of funding from the Global Environment Facility the main focus of the role will be to coordinate the Rhino Impact Bond (RIB) project to ensure that all interventions designed under the project are appropriate to rhinoceros conservation and protected area management and complement national and local priorities.

The post holder will be based in London and will report to the Head of Impact Investing – the Rhino Impact Bond Manager.

The post is for 3 years with a possibility of renewal after that time.
