The Communications Director for our Global Lands program leads a broad and integrated communications strategy for The Nature Conservancy’s top priorities in land conservation around the world. The Communications Director, Global Lands is a senior leadership and relationship management position on the Global Communications team for the Conservancy’s Worldwide Office. This position will serve as advisor and day-to-day communications liaison for Global Managing Director, Lands and Executive Team member Justin Adams and the program that he directs. This position is supported by a broad team of experts in media relations, executive visibility, PR writing, digital production and social media.
The Communications Director, Global Lands will design and lead outreach efforts that support the Conservancy’s top priorities by developing strategic messaging; writing speeches, web content, print materials, blogs and opinions; directing rapid response outreach to audiences; supporting executive visibility plans and speaking opportunities; and working with digital, social and traditional media managers to support our Global Lands program. The goal of this work is to raise awareness of and leverage public and private support for The Nature Conservancy’s land conservation priorities, including sustainable development and smart agriculture, forest conservation and climate change mitigation, and enhancing community-led conservation for its many benefits to nature and people. This position reports to the Director of Global Communications and will supervise project teams and vendors.
