Communications & PR Officer

Are you a proactive and creative communicator looking for your next challenge? If so, we’d like you hear from you. We're looking for a Communications & PR Officer to join our busy Communications Team at Groundwork London.

Ideally you will have a minimum of two years prior experience in a communications role, preferably with some experience in the charity sector.

In this role you'll lead on public relations and communications activities for a wide range of Groundwork London programmes and projects. Your strong interpersonal skills and organised approach will enable you to work effectively with our Community, Employment, Landscape Design and Youth delivery teams providing communications support across a diverse range of projects. You will have experience of communications planning for campaigns, projects or events and be able to deliver communications action plans.

You’ll be able to identify compelling public interest stories and communicate them to our target audiences through a variety of mediums. You’ll be required to build relationships with, and pitch wide ranging concepts and stories to journalists, project partners and other stakeholders on a regular basis.

Experience of events organisation is desired as the role will involve supporting the delivery and promotion of project events and activities. You will gain first-hand experience of our work and the positive impact it has on people’s lives and the environment across London.

You will produce communications material for digital and print, ensuring that the Groundwork London brand and project specific co-branding are applied consistently to external and internal publicity materials. Also, that the messages you are communicating are consistent with our over-arching Marketing, Communications and Digital strategies.

You’ll need to be process driven, a quick learner and able to work independently at times and manage your assigned workload. You will also be expected to manange tight and competing deadlines.
