Description

Are you a proactive and organised communicator who wants to inspire and support Volunteering in London? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We're looking for a part-time Communications & PR Assistant to join our busy Communications Team. Ideally you’ll have at least a year's experience in a communications role, preferably with some experience in the voluntary sector. As part of this role you'll support public relations and communications activities for a number of established volunteering programmes in Barnet, Brent, Hounslow, Westminster and Kingston.

Although you’ll be working closely with the Volunteering Services Team, as part of Groundwork London’s wider Communications Team, you’ll benefit from the guidance and support of that team and personal development opportunities including, communications training, seminars and professional membership of the Charity Comms network.

Your strong interpersonal skills and organised approach will enable you to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver communications action plans. You’ll have experience of using social media in a professional environment and effectively using e-communications platforms such as Mail Chimp or SendinBlue.

You’ll be able to identify compelling personal stories and communicate them to our target audiences through a variety of mediums. You’ll produce communications material for digital and print, ensuring that the Groundwork and volunteering service brands are applied consistently on external and internal publicity materials. Experience of events organisation is also advantageous.

You’ll need to be process driven, a quick learner and able to work independently at times, planning your own workload in order to manage tight and sometimes competing deadlines.

This role is part time at 22.5 hours per week. Salary will be pro rata to the hours.
