REPORTS TO:          Managing Director

SALARY:                  £34,838 - £42,609

                                Full time, 35 hours per week

LOCATION:             

Flexible – currently home working, must be willing to travel to Edinburgh on a regular basis. Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

 JOB PURPOSE:     

To deliver a varied and challenging portfolio of climate resilience projects. To implement Sniffer’s vision as a changemaker for a resilient Scotland and deliver business strategy.

Sniffer is developing some of the UK’s most vibrant and exciting climate change adaptation and resilience projects. We are supporting major adaptation initiatives in cities, islands, regions and communities, providing trusted advice to major organisations and pioneering new approaches to adaptation funding and finance and climate justice. Our award-winning work is looked to around the world as some of the leading practice in the global response to the impacts of climate change.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced climate change adaptation professional to lead and develop varied adaptation and climate resilience projects within a dedicated, knowledgeable, supportive, and collaborative team.

  • Work as part of our team of change makers to lead a challenging and diverse range of climate change adaptation projects

You will enjoy variety and be proactive in developing an exciting range of projects - from place-based adaptation projects and risk assessments to expert working groups focused on addressing topics such as climate justice, adaptation funding and finance and a green recovery.  

  • Provide trusted adaptation advice to major public, private and third sector organisations

Your commitment to learning will enable you to make sense of complex adaptation challenges and offer clear and compelling advice on adaptation policy and practice, including on climate change policy and mainstreaming of adaptation within wider social and economic policy and practice.

  • Engage society in adapting to climate change

You will be a confident and clear communicator, able to listen and understand different perspectives and make adaptation relevant for a wide range of audiences. You will value the contributions that all our stakeholders bring – including government officials, young people, politicians, technical experts, and community members and be skilled in facilitating dialogue including through online training and events.
