Groundwork London is a leading social and environmental regeneration charity delivering over 500 projects each year aimed at: supporting people to stay in education, gain new skills and secure employment; reducing our environmental impact through energy efficiency, waste minimisation, reuse and recycling; and engaging communities and enterprises in improving their environment.
Our Youth Team is seeking Case Workers to support the continued expansion of our Youth Programme. The central focus of the role is to line manage an Achievement Coach; work with young people within Pupil Referral Units; prepare young people to progress to further education/college, employment or apprenticeships; and ensure they do not become NEET (not in education, employment or training). The roles require being based in either one or more of the London Pupil Referral Units.
You will provide specific support to young people (15 -17 year olds) who are involved in gang activity or are vulnerable to becoming involved in gangs and youth violence, enabling them to make the transition from a place where they have been excluded from school to sustained education, employment and training (EET) outcomes.
With a relevant background, qualification or experience in youth, gang prevention and employment work, you will drive innovative and high quality provision as well as managing an Achievement Coach to achieve sustained education, employment and training outcomes.
The role includes managing the proactive identification of work experience and work taster opportunities for young people, ensuring they have access to suitably positive destinations, which may include volunteering, education and training, work experience, and accessing apprenticeships and employment.
You will have the ability to form close and effective relationships with young people from a wide range of backgrounds, and to provide support and guidance.
