Haycock and Jay Associates is a unique ecology practice based in the market town of Otley, West Yorkshire. Established in 2010, we are proud to have built a strong reputation across the development, conservation and public engagement sectors.
Our diverse group of professional ecologists undertake a varied portfolio of work including significant botanical projects in Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale AONB, protected species work in a variety of ancient properties and herbivore impact assessment and condition assessment from Cape Wrath to the Dark Peak, as well as development-related projects. We regularly undertake projects for statutory agencies, National Parks and charities which require good botanists; from coastal cliffs to Pennine peatlands, flood-plain meadows to alpine heaths.

Why we are different
Our ecologists get the opportunity to work in exciting projects where we can really make a difference; long term monitoring of sites and rare and scarce plant populations, peatland restoration, ancient woodland restoration and public engagement projects. This provides a stimulating working environment where budding botanists can practice and develop their skills. We encourage and support each botanist in developing a specialism, and promote employees taking their career in new directions. If you have a passion for botany, you can grow it with us.
