Description  

The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) are looking for a Blue Carbon Analyst to join the Biodiversity, Evolution and Adaptations Team. The role will involve measuring morphometric and carbon content of benthic samples collected from around Antarctica. The post holder will then be responsible for separating these samples by functional and taxonomic groups.

Purpose

Measure morphometric and carbon content of benthic samples from around Antarctica and separate these by functional and taxonomic groups.

Qualification

PhD in relevant topic.

Duties

- Set up spreadsheet of samples by taxon, functional group, drymass, AFDM & carbon.
- Separate samples by taxon/functional group
- Measure growth banded samples
- Dry samples to constant weight and enter data
- Ash samples to constant weight and enter data
