With Nidderdale AONB

Beyond Nature - Farming Officer
Post Number: TP39
Grade: H Salary: £30,451 to £32,234 per annum
1 year fixed term contract
Hours: 37 per week

Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in partnership with Yorkshire Water is looking for a talented and committed individual to take on the role of Beyond Nature Farming Officer to deliver land management conservation over Yorkshire Water’s estate in Nidderdale AONB and across Yorkshire.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to farming and wildlife through Yorkshire Water’s Beyond Nature approach, which will improve farm business sustainability and enhance wildlife habitats and species, creating a network of high nature value farms. The role will suit an experienced farm conservation advisor who can work independently to develop close working relations with farmers and provide clear conservation advice. You’ll have a good understanding of current environmental land management schemes, with an eye to future developments in the uplands.

You will be based at Nidderdale AONB’s office in Pateley Bridge where you will be part of a team who work on natural and cultural heritage projects with a wide range of partners. You’ll also work closely with Yorkshire Water colleagues and from time to time will need to travel to Yorkshire Water offices and farms outside the AONB. A full driving license and access to a car is essential.

For further information please contact Iain Mann, Nidderdale AONB Manager, via email at iain.mann@harrogate.gov.uk

Closing date for Applications: Sunday 4 October
