Description

The Green Investment Group Limited (GIG) is part of the Macquarie Group. The Green Investment Ratings Team is seeking to hire a highly motivated recent graduate qualified in an environmental science or related subject, to help GIG support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. The role will focus on assessing, monitoring and reporting on the environmental benefits (‘green impact’) associated with green investment.

This Edinburgh-based role, will involve working in the Green Investment Ratings Team as it supports the international expansion of GIG.

As well as being qualified in an environmental science or related subject (ideally at a post-graduate level) you will be interested in, or have already demonstrated, the application of environmental science within green infrastructure development and investment banking.

Your academic training will have provided you with a technical understanding of environmental issues, to enable assessment of projects’ environmental characteristics and risks. You will also have the ability to review and summarise large quantities of environmental information, and summarise the environmental benefits (green impact) of investments for review. Quantification of the green impact of investments is a key feature of the role, so strong numeracy skills and ability to handle data are essential.

In addition to presenting information to GIG’s management and investment staff, the role will also involve engagement with GIG’s external stakeholders, and so requires good oral and written communication skills.

GIG has developed a unique approach to assessing, monitoring and reporting the green impact of investments. More information on this approach can be found on our website: http://greeninvestmentgroup.com/green-impact/
