Would you like to be part of a team delivering pioneering and nationally significant peatland restoration?
Lancashire Wildlife Trust has been working on peatland restoration in Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside for over 20 years, and our award-winning Peatlands Programme is driving forward a co-ordinated approach to raise awareness of our peatland's importance and build resilience for their future protection. As part of this we manage a dozen sites, both owned by the Trust and on behalf of regional partners. We are looking for an Assistant Peatland Reserves Recovery Officer to work alongside the Peatland Reserves Recovery Officer to assist with the ongoing management and maintenance of these sites to support their long-term recovery.
This exciting and varied role will suit those who love spending the majority of their time outdoors and are passionate about safeguarding our peatlands for the future. It will include assisting with the delivery of a range of wetland habitat restoration works, the recruitment & management of volunteers, conducting habitat & species monitoring, and engaging local communities to raise awareness of the precious peatlands on their doorstep.
