Description

About 2degrees:

At 2degrees, we believe that business is key to solving the greatest challenge of our time: how 9 billion people can live well and sustainably on a single planet with finite resources. This is also the biggest challenge facing business - how companies can survive and thrive in a time of turbulent change. They can only do this by adopting the principles of sustainable business, embracing greater economic efficiency, driving innovation and managing environmental and social risks.

While very much in ‘start-up’ mode, we work with some great names, including Asda-Walmart, Honda, Stanley Black & Decker, Eastman, Co-op and Interface. We’re trying to make a big difference, and are looking for a new member of the team to join us. So, if you’ve ever thought about how improvements get made to manufacturing production lines or the footprint of the product that comes out, then read on…

Role and responsibilities:

We’re looking for a passionate colleague to help support the retailers and manufacturers we work with – including their Factory Managers, Engineers, Environmental Managers and Operational colleagues – to succeed in improving the resource efficiency of their operations.

The focus is on promoting sharing of good practice, problem solving and collaboration inside manufacturing companies and within the supply chains of major businesses, all to accelerate sustainability & efficiency initiatives. The programmes are predominately delivered to members via online platforms, and through hundreds of personal relationships forged in person and on the phone.

Assistant Engagement Managers play a major part by:

  • Organising events and activities for the membership. You’ll scope, plan and recruit for events, webinars, site visits and other activities to support the goals of the programme.
  • Building relationships with programme members. While technology has a big role to play, our programmes mix online and personal relationships to really understand, prompt, and make things happen with members.
  • Member communications. One minute you’ll be speaking to sustainability managers about an event, the next finding the answer to a problem posed by a member – by consulting with other members.
  • Collecting, analysing and acting on key data points and metrics to improve member experience and relationships.
  • Providing insights to members to support their sustainability initiatives and providing our internal team with insights from members to guide our learning and product development.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Qualified to degree level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly via phone, email and online media/social platforms.
  • A professional approach and ability to inspire confidence in our clients, partners and members.
  • A strong, positive work ethic. Happy to ‘roll your sleeves up’ and get stuck in.
  • A natural attention to detail, organisation, and diligence to the way you work.
  • Comfortable gathering and conducting basic data analysis to understand trends.
  • Ability to produce concise reports, newsletters and communications
  • A willingness to learn and adapt quickly. Comfortable with the rapid, and somewhat unpredictable, nature of a start-up.
  • A self-starter able to work both independently and within a team.
  • A personal interest in the fields of either manufacturing, resource efficiency, engineering, and/or sustainability.

Desired skills and experience:

  • 1-2 years of relevant workplace experience.
  • Experience in a customer facing role.
  • Proficiency with other languages would be a big bonus (especially German and Italian)

What you get:

  • The opportunity to work in a business that is changing the way that manufacturers approach resource efficiency projects.
  • You’ll be joining a fun but hard-working team and will learn new skills very quickly. We strongly encourage a good work-life balance, with table-football in the office, fruit on Monday, beers on Friday, and plenty of social events.
  • A culture of empowerment – you will be given a high level of personal responsibility from day one.
  • On-going mentoring and career development.
