Your Role

You will be an integral part of the Southampton ecology team and will carry out a range of field surveys, within our busy and dynamic survey season alongside office-based work such as day-to-day reporting, production of maps in GIS, preparing for surveys and assisting more senior staff. 

About You

A relevant degree as a minimum is required, as is a full driving licence, plus good ICT skills including MS Word and Excel. You must have a good knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation, policy and guidance and a desire to adapt this infomration to suit project requirements.  You will have experience at using a range of different field equipment and software, ideally producing maps using ArcGIS. You will be a confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to prioritise the delivery of a dynamic workload.  Experience in producing risk assessments and method statements is desirable and a desire to set a good example with regards to Health and Safety is a must.

Your enthusiastic, flexible approach will equip you to support our experienced team in line with the varied projects we work on. You will get to work alongside our other disciplines, helping develop your awareness and involvement with other WYG staff including our Planning, Landscape, Archaeology, EIA and range of Engineering teams across the country.
