Are you someone with an understanding of the farming industry, as well as knowledge of environmental land management and agri-environment schemes? Do you have a passion for agriculture and environmental policies and issues?

The NFU is looking for an Assistant Environment Adviser to support the work of the Environment team, in the development of environment related policies. You will need to have experience of working with farmers, working with stakeholders and experience of researching, interpreting and communication of regulations and legislation.

About the role

Based in the Policy Services team in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, you will report to the Chief Adviser (Environment) and will work in conjunction with others including HQ and regional colleagues, and other appropriate professionals. You will also work closely with the Chief Adviser (Land Management) to support the industry-led initiatives, including the Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE),Tried and Tested (T&T) & Greenhouse Gas Action Plan (GHGAP)

You will work on and support initiatives that will protect and further our members’ interests and, as a result of this work, be able to make policy recommendations to the NFU’s internal decision-making bodies.

This role also gives you the opportunity to work with in house publications such as British Farmer & Grower as well as other media platforms to voice the NFU’s position on environmental policy and legislative proposals.
