Description

Round River Conservation Studies is looking for a project coordinator for its conservation and community sustainable development activities in the Alto Purús region of Peru.

The project coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all field activities and managing staff from project headquarters in the small and remote town of Puerto Esperanza. Field activities include developing and implementing a regional environmental education campaign; conducting capacity building workshops for community park guards; implementing community conservation agreements; and conducting patrols of rivers used to access the Park. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining close correspondence with Round River staff in the United States.

Candidates should have:

• Professional training and expertise in tropical conservation, natural resource management, rural community development, or a related field
• Experience working in remote areas under extremely difficult conditions, ideally in the Amazon
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in teams
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Fluency in Spanish
