As part of the Ribble Rivers Trust’s ongoing successful work with the agricultural industry, the Trust is looking to recruit a technically competent, dynamic and enthusiastic team member. The successful candidate will work to develop and deliver agricultural projects and activities which will help to reduce diffuse agricultural pollution and improve habitat, as well as aiding natural flood risk management.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Trust’s other farm advisors and build on existing work which has shown measurable improvements in the water environment through delivering farm advice, engagement and implementing capital works that provide benefit to the water environment and assist in farm sustainability. The role also involves supporting the Trust’s ongoing work with engaging with young farmers, and other educational activities of young people.
The successful applicant will be expected to work across several of the Trusts projects and initiatives. The role will involve visiting and offering advice to farms through pinpoint visits and plans, and then working with the farmers to design and implement measures, identifying and accessing a variety of funding streams including Countryside Stewardship.
