Description  

Salix Finance is currently an independent not for profit company established to accelerate public sector investment in energy efficiency technologies. Salix is publicly funded by BEIS, DfE, and the Welsh and Scottish Governments and works with public sector bodies throughout the UK, helping them make progress towards achieving their carbon reduction targets. We do this by offering interest free loans for energy efficiency projects. Job Purpose

Salix works to enable the public sector in the UK to reduce its carbon footprint. Working as a member of the Technical Services Team, the Technical Support Officer will apply knowledge of the sustainability sector, energy efficiency technologies and first principle methodologies for calculating energy and carbon savings to review and assess applications made for Salix funding programmes and provide technical advice to the Salix delivery teams and public-sector clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Support a teamwork approach to deliver project checking and testing for all Salix funding programmes

  • Review supporting information such as energy savings calculations, technical specifications, project costs and business cases, providing feedback on the quality of supporting evidence

  • Liaise and maintain a strong relationship with Salix’s technical contractor to deliver testing and checking of business case projects

  • Compose and resolve technical queries on projects with public sector clients

  • Support delivery teams and clients with building of project pipelines and undertake risk assessments for delivery of projects

  • Support with the analysis of energy and carbon savings achieved by Salix funded projects

  • Establish, maintain and engage with the improvement of systems and processes for ensuring the effective delivery of key testing targets

  • Provide technical advice to the delivery, marketing and finance teams

  • Support marketing team with development of marketing material

  • Provide technical support at meetings with clients and/or suppliers where required
