The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is an environment watchdog, charged with protecting and improving our country’s unique and beautiful environment for the benefit of everyone who lives here.
By co-ordinating SEPA's input to the planning process to ensure that our environmental objectives are integrated within development, you will safeguard the Scottish environment whilst facilitating economic growth. You will co-ordinate and lead our responses to planning application consultations, including those subject to Environmental Impact Assessment, and assist in providing input to Development Plan and Strategic Environmental Assessment engagement.
Qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject, you will ideally combine professional planning experience with knowledge of SEPA’s purpose, aims, and associated legislation. You will demonstrate strong communication and relationship building skills in liaising with internal staff, planning authorities and developers and writing reports. A strong team player, you will help manage the casework management system, and be open to early engagement and proactive approaches to deliver an effective and efficient planning service.
