The Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) seeks to change the face of Central Scotland, by restoring and transforming the landscape of an area stretching from Ayrshire and Inverclyde in the west, to Fife and the Lothians in the east.
As the lead body charged with delivering the CSGN, the Central Scotland Green Network Trust is seeking to employ a Development Officer to progress the Greenoakhill Project. Located to the east of Glasgow, Greenoakhill is an active landfill site. Working with the owners, Forestry Commission Scotland, CSGNT and other stakeholder organisations, this post will be tasked with developing the site as a community woodland.
Applications are sought from motivated, solution-orientated individuals who have a strong track record of developing and delivering environmental projects, ideally with experience of environmental reclamation projects. Computer literacy and strong project management skills are also necessary. A key element of this post will be liaising with the landfill operator,as well as other stakeholder organisations and excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential.
Applicants must have a degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent qualification (egForestry, Landscape Architecture, Project Management). Membership of a relevant professional body would also be advantageous.
This is a temporary 6 month post (35 hours per week) based in our offices in Shotts, North Lanarkshire. It is also expected that the successful applicant will spend a proportion of their time at the Greenoakhill site. We offer flexible working arrangements. Travel within Central Scotland will be required; a clean driving licence and access to a car are essential.
