This is an exciting opportunity to join the Environmental Justice Foundation’s international team. This full time role will provide direct assistance and support to the EJF Executive Director and Co-Director across all areas of the organisation’s operations to build the profile of EJF and its campaigns, raising public, corporate and political awareness of environmental degradation and associated human rights abuses.

This is a challenging and demanding role that requires the skills and determination to deliver on ambitious plans. We are looking for an experienced, reliable and loyal team member, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and above all, dedicated to protecting the global environment and human rights. You should have the ambition and core skills to fulfil this demanding role and be able to demonstrate first class written communication and presentational skills, the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and varied requirements, and outstanding organisational abilities.

This is a highly rewarding and central role to the organisation, which will allow you to assist and participate first-hand in elements of EJF’s work across all campaigns and projects. You will be key to policy engagements and events, and play an important role in supporting EJF’s international advocacy with private sector, governments and the general public.

EJF places a high priority on the development of its team members and on providing learning opportunities. This is directly linked to the consistent and harmonised evolution of work programmes and the growth of your experience and responsibilities over time, in line with your commitment and achievements.

  • Ensure the Director’s diary and schedules are well organised, structured and up to date, and colleagues informed of key dates and planning
  • Support the pre-planning of meetings for the Directors, arranging required presentation and campaign materials, and ensure follow-up
  • Monitor and draft correspondence for the Directors and schedule appointments
  • Ensure administrative support for the Directors as and when required
  • Support the Directors in the internal management of the organisation, and help ensure effective coordination between staff members
  • Provide support to the development and communications teams as directed
  • Support the production of campaign materials such as reports, briefings and presentations that will entail detailed and rigorous desk-based research, as well as the letters and communications to accompany such materials
