Description

Join Britain’s biggest walking charity to help more people enjoy the benefits of walking.

The Ramblers is looking to recruit a skilled and experienced individual to be part of the Walking for Health team.  Walking for Health is run by the Ramblers and Macmillan Cancer Support. Our vision is for everyone to have access to a short, free friendly health walk close to where they live to help them become and stay more active.

At a local level Walking for Health walks are coordinated by hundreds of schemes that come in many shapes and sizes. They all receive a number of benefits and support from us. One such benefit and support is the national accreditation quality standard we offer. Schemes must apply to get this quality mark, demonstrating how they meet our criteria.

The Communications Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation of the communications and marketing strategy for Walking for Health.

This will involve the production of communications and marketing materials for a variety of stakeholders, including: those involved with the management of local WfH schemes; volunteers who lead walks; walkers; potential walkers; potential volunteers.

Essential Requirements include:

  • To source and write content for the Walking for Health newsletters working closely with the Communications Manager and Regional Development team.
  • To support the day-to-day running of all digital communications, developing and scheduling content and monitoring the impact
  • To source, develop and manage case studies and guides for walking scheme coordinators
